Look at Me

Well we knew this day was coming soon. John says he has seen Jackson do this before but it was the first time he ever did it that I saw. He was trying to get John's Husker's cap that was on the coffee table, he loves to chew on that thing. He just stood there for what seemed like forever just talking to himself, jabbering on and on about who knows what. I wish we could read their minds. Of course when he talks non-stop is when John says he's just like me. That's ok though. I talked before I was two so I'll just say that makes him a genius! He finally started to fuss when he got tired of standing up. He does the standing up part pretty good, he just can't figure out how to get back down.

He was so huggy/kissy tonight and it was great. I already know I am going to miss this time with him when he's a baby. John says he's a mama's boy with all the kissing but I don't care. The time will come soon enough when he doesn't want to have anything to do with all that so I'll just enjoy it while I can.

Andrew's Birthday Party

Jackson, John and I got to go to Andrew's 1st birthday party on Sunday. For those of you who don't know, Andrew is the son of my cousin Mandy and her husband Curt, and we all lived next door to each other for a while. It was an all out party complete with fajitas and lots of cupcakes. Andrew certainly enjoyed his. Mandy was smart to strip him down to his skivvy's before she let him go at it.

The boys enjoyed all the attention they got from their Great Aunts Jeannie and Betsy.

Jackson made himself right at home crawling all over the place...... I lost him there for a second and finally found him when I lifted up the tablecloth and there he was just sitting under the table by himself. Guess he was looking for a little quiet spot!

Thanks Andrew for inviting us to your party. We had a great time!

Stranger Danger

Jackson had a great day today. When I went to pick him up at Pam's she had him standing in a walker and he was loving life. That kid refuses to sit down, he wants to stand all the time. Unfortunately he can't do that on his own so we either break our backs bending over holding his hands or try to find something to stick him in. John practices walking with him every night. I think he is anxious for Jackson to walk so he can say he walked before he was a year old. Must be a guy thing.

Anyway after we left Pam's we had to take some baby things that Jackson had outgrown over to the house of a guy I work with, he and his wife are expecting a baby in the spring. Jackson was asleep when we got there but woke up while we were in the house talking. He saw me, looked around the room, then looked at Kevin, Steph and their son. All of a sudden his eyes welled up with tears and he started screaming. I took him out of his car seat and tried to calm him down but every time he looked at Kevin he started crying hysterically again. This is a kid that never cries. He does this with John's friend Mike also. Every time Mike looks at him, he bursts into tears. Now both of these guys he has been around before. Mike has come over to watch football and Kevin held him when I've took him up to my office so we don't know what's going on. The only thing we can figure is he's starting to feel a little stranger danger. I guess it's normal but I always feel so bad when it happens.

Jackson whimpered all the way home but recovered quickly when I took him in the house and he saw himself in the mirror. That usually does the trick. He ate like a champ, we played on the floor and he even managed to give me a fat lip with a good head butt. I'll look like Angelina Jolie for a couple days....unfortunately only on the right side of my mouth!

Not great but it's a start

Well those who know me, know that I am challenged when it comes to "computer stuff" so it's pretty amazing that I've managed to get this far on my own. Lyncca, aren't you proud? I'm good at what I know, let's just say I don't know very much when it comes to this stuff.

Anyway, this is our blog, the project that I worked on while I was at home in bed sick today. Expect the look to change as I recruit help from my younger, more computer literate friends. Mostly it's a place where we can provide updates and post new pictures of the little man for the grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who don't get to see him as often as they like. Expect there to be a few Zam stories as well. You know I can't resist when he does something goofy. I'm sure he could do the same for me so I won't be giving him the log-in information to this site :-).

That being said here's the first one..... I go to pick Jackson up at Pam's last week and she mentioned she got a good laugh when she took off his jacket after John dropped him off and left that morning. Apparently he had put his onesie on backwards. Easy mistake if both sides are white but this one had snaps on one side and 3 pictures of puppies or something across the other. I'll have to take a picture of it and post it for ya'll to see.

Ok, well although I know this may be easy for some, it's taken me the better part of my day so it's off to sleep and since I'm feeling better, back to work in the morning. More to come soon.
Here's a practice picture I uploaded. This is what we get when we tell Jackson to smile......
